Vernon Friday founded Technical Design Services in 1988 and continued to diligently serve the leak sealing industry for a total of 39 years before finally retiring in 2022. Scott Friday joined Vernon in 1994 and has been continously engaged in leak seal engineering since that time. Scott took over ownership and operation of the company when Vernon retired. Scott is a registered Texas Professional Engineer. Our staff consists of Scott and a designer that has been with us continuously since 1995. Our top priority is to provide the quick turn-around times our clients need. We have completed over 60,000 designs just in the last 25 years, which does not include Vernon’s 13 years of work prior to Scott joining the company in 1994.

Our philosophy is to listen to everyone involved in the process from start to finish to make sure our designs are robust, safe, cost effective, and as easy as possible to fabricate and install. We serve over 30 different online leak-sealing companies and pride ourselves on forming good working relationships with all of the people involved in each step of the process. Many of our relationships with companies and individuals in the industry began in the early 1980s.

Technical Design Services specializes in the design and engineering of leak sealing devices for all manner of piping systems and related hardware. We provide 3D design packages that include supporting design calculations and dimensional data for end user review and final fabrication. These leak sealing devices are installed by our clients on live systems to avoid unplanned and costly production outages. They are used in the petrochemical industry, food processing facilities, power generation plants, electrical distribution facilities, paper mills, breweries, steel mills, hospitals, pipeline systems, and more.

Many are hand built using standard pipe, plate, and bar stock, and then welded together. They may also be designed for CNC fabrication. Our designs are based on ASME Pressure Vessel Code Standards and accepted industry practices. We provide a 24/7/365 response for customers and strive for the fastest possible turn-around time from receipt of design requirements to final design package, almost always in the same day.
